The Martos company was created in 1981 with the designation Martos & Cª, Lda., in the facilities of Carpalhoso & Filhos, Lda., at Eira Velha, Colmeias, Leiria (Portugal). Its activity is focused on the production and commerce of wood and derivatives products.

Six years later, the company occupied their own installations in the Industrial Park of Areias (Colmeias – Leiria - Portugal). In the 90’s the Martos company grew, increasing their production lines, doing several enlargements and automatizations in the output lines. Colpinus brand for floors and finished coverings was created.

In February 1999 the company opened a delegation in Pinhal Novo (Palmela - Portugal) to faster answer their customers requests.

In 2004, in the scope of an internal reorganization politics, was created Nelsimar-Valorização de Madeiras, Lda., that produces finished components.
